Communication Station is a Speech and Language Group for children 18-35 months and includes 1-2 field trips every 12 weeks. Each week the group will target a new theme which is incorporated into the activities. This group is open to all children regardless of their communication ability. We will teach a total communication approach which includes a combination of pictures, sign language, sounds, and words to help your child initiate communication with peers and adults. While children will learn how to shape vocalizations into meaningful communication, parents will learn how to guide their child in the use of these techniques into their everyday routines. Snack time and sensory exploration (trampoline, peanut balls, rice tables etc.) are also provided. Children and families are welcome to join this class at any point in the year!!
